Master the Method

Child Safety Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Our commitment

Master the Method is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and best interests of all children and young people who engage with our services. Child safety is not an afterthought — it is foundational to how we operate.

What we do

  • All tutors hold a current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card prior to commencing any sessions.
  • Sessions may take place at the student's home, the tutor's home, a public location (such as a library), or online — the location is agreed upon by the family and tutor in advance.
  • For in-person sessions, parental or guardian awareness of the session location and timing is expected at all times. Where sessions are conducted at a student's home, a parent or guardian is generally present on the premises.
  • Tutors do not conduct one-on-one sessions with students in private, unsupervised settings. In-person sessions at a student's home typically occur with a parent or guardian present in the home; sessions at public venues take place in open, observable spaces.
  • Any concern about a student's safety or wellbeing will be reported immediately to the appropriate authority.
  • Tutor conduct is governed by a signed Code of Conduct that includes explicit child safety obligations.
  • We maintain records of all WWVP verifications and review compliance regularly.

Reporting concerns

If you have concerns about the safety or welfare of a child in connection with our service, please contact us immediately. We take all concerns seriously and will act promptly. In an emergency or immediate danger, contact emergency services (000) first.

Policy review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect current best practice and legislative requirements.
